As a new member of the 2 under 2 club, I do not have hours to rock my 2 month old to sleep during the day. As she will only last about 15 minutes in her rocker, the majority of our days are spent in very close proximity by way of a variety of baby wearing devices. This was fine in March and April, prior to late spring heat waves arriving in New England.I started my search for a summer carrier and the solly was frequently recommended in my search. I bit the bullet and ordered it during a stretch of 90 degree days. It is a bit pricey, but anyone saying that it’s overpriced for 5+ yards of fabric has obviously never gone to a fabric store to purchase 5 yards of good quality fabric.Temperature wise it does keep me and my daughter much cooler than my boba or ergo. The fabric is quite soft, the floral print is positively lovely and it is much more lightweight than other wraps. This has some pros and cons. I’m kept much cooler, but it has been taking me a bit to figure out exactly how tight to wrap it. I’m about a size 14 and have plenty of extra fabric. However, I find it nearly impossible to keep the fabric flat on my back which is not an issue with my thicker wrap. The shoulders and back cross stay flat but the rest kind of bunches into a rope on my lower back which gets a bit uncomfortable after a couple hours.The fabric is stretchy but not in the traditional way of a cotton/spandex wrap. It’s very lightweight and strong but does have quite a bit of give to it. Because of this, I’ve been having to play around with how tight I start off the wrap and have to readjust during the day.Overall, it fits my needs well by definitely being one of the “coolest” options available for baby wearing in the summer. If it wasn’t getting so gosh darn hot out I’d probably be sticking with my boba. If you don’t want to sweat like a pig all summer and your little one refuses to be put down, spare yourself the overheating and get this.Update: as my daughter got around the 15 lb mark, she started to not like this wrap as much. It doesn’t offer nearly the support as a thicker wrap so it’s kind of been retired until a new baby comes along. Definitely can’t imagine wearing her with this at 20+ lbs even though it’s rated for more.I am really not a big review writer but I had to share my thoughts on this wrap. This is the fifth carrier I’ve tried with my baby and it is so soft and lightweight, yet it holds her snug against me! I prefer it over the other similar brands and will be recommending it to all my new mom friends.I have another wrap which is very heavy and holds in heat. This is definitely not the case for this wrap. I love the feel of the material, the lightweight yet secure fabric and it is so breathable which is great for those warmer days and long walks.My baby likes being in the wrap, but I still can’t figure out how to put the thing on without watching the step by step YouTube video. It also gets pretty hot, my baby and I both are sweaty after a bit. It is nice though when you need to get stuff done and baby cries every time you put them down.Soft and very supportive and light weight. Took a few tries to get the hang of wrapping it. Being plus size I couldn't bring it around front again to finish tieing the knot, but it change the functionality of the wrspyReally love my Solly wrap. It’s not the easiest to use but once you get the hang of it, it’s really wonderful for baby wearing and to have your little one close to you. Suggest going on YouTube to watch the instructional videos. The fabric is soft, stretchy and it holds up really well in the wash.My baby was still too small for her ergo baby omni carrier and would have a fit every time I tried to put her in it. The Solly baby wrap is great because you can adjust as you need and it holds baby very snug. We started baby wearing around 2 months and although she wasn't a fan initially, she is all about that life now. I wish I started sooner. We just throw it in the stroller and it's super convenient especially if she's being fussy. It takes a few tries and practice to get a feel for how to wrap it (plenty of youtube vids) but once you got it down, it's utter freedom especially for contact naps. It is pretty expensive for what you think is just a piece of fabric; but being hands free when you have a fussy baby is absolutely priceless.Good for summer but has no stretch and baby wasn’t a huge fan.
